Why I love Rakes!

Why I Love Rakes

Oh, rakes. The quintessential bad boys of Regency romance, forever leaning against pillars and staring across ballrooms with smirks that promise trouble and a heart that might—just might—be waiting for the right woman to claim it. If you're like me, a self-proclaimed rake enthusiast, then you'll love the next installment of my Ladies Who Dare series, Just About A Rake.

(You can read as stand alone!)

Here's why I love them:

1. They're not afraid to steal those kisses!

Right?

Society says, “Don’t.” The rake says, “Watch me.” Well, this is actually true for all my characters, but rakes are a bit different! At least, to me. Whether it’s sneaking into a lady’s garden for a midnight tryst or wreaking havoc on hearts, there is just something dreamy about daydreaming to tame a rake's heart! Or steal a kiss.

2. The Charm is Unmatched

Wit, banter, the push and pull. I love it. Just so you know, Leonora is as big of a flirt as Dare in Just About A Rake!

3. Their Redemption Arcs Are Simply Irresistible

There’s something incredibly satisfying about following a character who’s known for his wicked ways and seeing them step into redemption. It's like watching a caterpillar turn into a butterfly—except with more witty banter and steamy encounters. When a rake falls in love, they falls hard, don't you agree? And is there anything sexier than a rake unmasking himself to you? Ahem! I mean the heroine!

4. Their Scandalous Reputations Are Just So Entertaining

Plus moments of flirtation, moments with distance, moments of vulnerability. Repeat. At least it's the case with Leonora and Dare. Of course, Dare is also the target of a parrot and monkey. Perhaps the universe is trying to tell him something? 😁

4. They Have the Best Lines

I don't know, perhaps it's just me, but I feel they have the best lines! It's probably the charm and flirt.

What do you think?

  1. I love a charming rake, and I LOVED this book!!! Also, I'm dying to know if Calstone and Knox are going to get their own story.
